Church plagued by heresies since its beginning in the first century

May 15th, 2009 by gkroeger

The Catholic Church is plagued by many heresies today just like it was by Manichaeism, Arianism, Pelagianism, and Nestorianism in the early Church. These groups continually attempt to bend Christ’s Church to their way of thinking. I guess this is a human failing we must constantly be on guard against. The early Church was filled with saints such as St Augustine who with Christ’s help fought off all of these attempts to dilute Christ’s message to us.

Today we have groups like “Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good” still attempting to dilute Christ’s message and to attempt to bend the teaching of the Church to their own idea of Christ’s word.

This group and others like it insist on calling themselves Catholic but preach in direct conflict with the Church and the Holy Fathers teaching.

Many Catholics are led away from the true Church and its teaching by these self serving and damaging groups. Christ ordained the Apostles and their successors to head His Church for good reason. The Holy Spirit has faithfully guided the Church under the direction of St. Peter’s successors for 2000 years, why would anyone listen to these splinter groups?

If anyone has any question about whether a group is in union with the Catholic Church or not, one only need to listen to their mantra, if it is in conflict with the Catholic Church and the Holy Father, it is NOT in union with the Church and you should shake the dust from your feet and leave it behind quickly.

It is easy to see why these groups form; they find it difficult or impossible to live with one or more of the Church’s teachings, so instead of doing the regrettable but  more honorable thing like the protestant churches, and split away, they attempt to usurp the authority of the Church and continue to claim Catholicity and preach heresy.

In this modern age, the thing that most of these groups could not live with and caused them to split with the Church was and is contraception. Which also lead them in some cases to support abortion and in this case a radically anti life president.

Like the overall movement and groups such as ACLU, ACORN, and Planned parenthood (who many of these splinter groups have aligned themselves with) they attempt to falsely grab the high moral ground by latching on to some phase or mantra that they present as their primary objective, such as Catholics in Alliance for the “Common Good”. Their actual objective is to legitimize their inability to follow Christ.

THIS LINK WILL TAKE YOU TO A LETTER PUBLISHED BY “Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good” in support of Notre Dame and Father Jenkins honoring the most anti life president this country has ever seen.

Read it and weep, then pray for them to rejoin Christ’s Church

I am relearning the message of Fatima

May 14th, 2009 by gkroeger

Why do we so easily fall prey to the world? We see all around us people acting contrary to God’s law, we know right from wrong, we pray every day for our faith and the faith of others, we know of the strong messages sent to us via scripture and miracles both everyday miracles of creation and those such as Fatima; yet we spend most of our time absorbed in worldly day to day problems and easily forget our main goal of eternal salvation.

It is good that the Church reminds us frequently of the volumes of evidence supporting our faith. Even though the influence of the world – in particular the current state of our political environment – keeps leading us astray; we need to listen to the good news and let it sink in. Yesterday was the 92th anniversary of the appearance of Our Lady to the children at Fatima. No wonder people have trouble relating to the events of 2000 years ago, here we have a miraculous event that happened only 92 years ago – eyewitnesses have testified to this event in our life time – and we do not take seriously the warning issued to us by the Blessed Virgin Mary only 92 years ago.

I have been relearning the lessons of Fatima yesterday and today. I urge all who happen upon this note to revisit the message from Mary at Fatima 92 years ago.

Remember the 3 secrets of Fatima? All the visions and information given to the three children at Fatima have been verified through years of investigation and validation. Sister Lucia who died in 2005– one of the three children – reconfirmed her vision several times throughout her 97 year life; and there were 50 to 75 thousand eye witnesses to the miracle promised to the children by the Blessed Virgin so “everyone” could believe their vision and accompanying message.

The first secret was the 1 or 2 minute vision of Hell given to the children. The children expressed how horrifying it was and if Mary had not promised the children that they would all be taken to Heaven they would have died from fright because the vision was so terrible. In spite of this very strong evidence of the reality of hell and Mary’s love for us that she wanted to warn us; many people today are in denial not only of hell but of sin. Mary told the children that the vast majority of souls being cast into the fiery pit were going there because of sins of the flesh (sex outside of sacred marriage). If many souls were being dammed because of sins of the flesh in 1917, how many more would fall into that category now with the growth of pornography, multiple sex partners, homosexual acts, pedophilia, etc.?

The second secret was that the current war (world war I) would soon end, however a warning that if people did not turn to devotion of the Immaculate Heart of Mary  there would be a much worse war (the Second World War), and finally the prediction of the immense damage that Russia would do to humanity by abandoning the Christian faith and embracing Communist totalitarianism.

Now, 92 years later most of Europe has if not totally abandoned their Christian faith has most definitely placed it on a back burner and this disease is creeping across the ocean to the new world.

I recall thinking to myself (and I think it is still the general consensus) that although the first part of this warning (World War II) came to past, that the second part did not. Russia after all was defeated, right? Well, the old powerful military of Russia may be no more; however, godless totalitarianism certainly does not seem to be dead; in fact it appears that now that part of the secret is also coming true.

The third secret published in 2000 describes a vision remarkably like the vision of St John written about in Revelation, a pope walking with bishops through a devastated city with dead people all around, then up a hill with a huge cross on top. When the pope reaches the top, at the foot of the cross he is shot in a hail of bullets along with the bishops and others with him. Many equate this to Pope John Paul II being shot on May 13th 1981 on the 54 anniversary of the first vision at Fatima; coincidence?

There are many articles claiming Fatima was fabricated by the Catholic Church, that Sister Lucia was brainwashed by the Church. Even if the Church was so inclined (anyone who knows the thoroughness of the Church’s investigations of all claims to miracles, knows this to be ridiculous) did they also brainwash the 50 to 75 thousand eye witnesses to this miracle, some of which were non believers? Talk about faith, if only we had that much faith. The anti religion crowd ridicules Christians for their faith and they must have a much stronger faith to believe that truth is not truth. They must believe that the world and mankind is some kind of a freak accident of nature; that in spite of the marvelously intricate intelligence designed into creation it did not have a designer. Now that is faith. Maybe we can learn something from them after all.

The message of Fatima is a simple one. If we are to convert sinners and realize peace in our world, we must pray the rosary daily and do penance.

Why does the left press so hard for embryonic stem cell research?

May 13th, 2009 by gkroeger

For the same reasons that ACORN claims to be for the poor down trodden who society prevents from voting, the same reason that Planned Parenthood claims to be helping the poor unwed mother, the same reason that the ACLU claims to be for civil liberties; to give the false impression that they are working for the “good” of mankind. What is their “real” purpose? To legitimize abortion; as ridiculous as that sounds, the pro-abortion people work tirelessly to support any immoral process that will further ingrain abortion into our society. They live in constant fear that some law will be passed that limits their full freedom to kill the unborn. Any effort to teach abstinence, adoption, natural family planning, etc.  is met with instant denial and criticism.

It is scientifically proven that adult stem cells have more promise and less risk then embryonic stem cells; the difference is that adult stem cells do not require the death of an embryo

A few weeks ago, President Obama signed an executive order authorizing the use of federal funds, your tax dollars, to be used for human embryonic stem cell research. This executive order also commissioned the National Institute of Health (NIH) to publish new guidelines for funding research on embryonic stem cells.

See my earlier post urging those holding Pfizer stock to immediately sell it. Pfizer, as a result of Obama lifting the ban on embryonic stem cell research has put $100,000,000 of investor money into embryonic stem cell research. Do not allow your money to be used to justify the murder of innocent embryos who would otherwise become productive members of society.

Dump Pfizer

The executive order that Obama signed authorizing the use of embryonic stem cells for research also included a commission of the National Institute of Health to publish new guidelines for funding research on embryonic stem cells. By law, the Obama Administration must publish these new regulation for public comment until May 26th.

Your comments on these new regulations must be read by law! Be sure to submit your comment by clicking here

This is your chance to raise your voice and tell the Obama Administration not to use your tax dollars to fund stem cell research that destroys human life!

Meet a couple of the “Good” guys……

May 12th, 2009 by gkroeger

People like these seem harder to find these days.

An entertainer;

Perry Como:

Pierino Como was born in Canonsburg (a small mining town southwest of Pittsburgh), Pennsylvania on May 18th 1912. He was the seventh of 13 children of Pietro and Lucia Travaglini, who had emigrated from Italy.

At the age of 10, Pierino got a job sweeping out Steve Fragapane’s barber shop for 50 cents a week. By the time he was 14, he was cutting hair in his own barber shop where he worked after school. He sang as he worked, and miners enjoyed it. On weekends he earned extra money singing for the local chapter of the Sons of Italy.

When he was 21, he took the job as featured vocalist of Freddy Carlone’s dance band for $28 a week. Ten years later he had a 15-minute nightly radio show in New York, and signed a recording contract with RCA Victor – a recording contract that was to continue for 46 years.

“Mister C” (as he came to be known) was a strong Catholic and family man, married to his wife (a childhood sweetheart) for more than 65 years before her death in 1998. He had tried his hand at movies in the 1940’s but found that Hollywood “is not what you would call a family town” and he returned to radio and recording, which enabled him to spend more time with his wife and three children.

In 1948, he moved to television as host of “The Chesterfield Supper Club.” His easy-going manner charmed TV audiences and he became a superstar.

Perry Como died on this day in 2001, just days short of his 89th birthday.

And a politician;

It is a Topsy Turvy world

May 10th, 2009 by gkroeger

For those of us born in the innocent age when our society was governed by people who believed in and attempted to live by God’s laws, it is a sad place we live in today.

1.     Christians protesting the murder of unborn innocents are being thrown in Jail.

2.     Those whose accurate moral compasses tell them that marriage should be between a man and a woman, are told they are “haters” and should be quiet and let society approve homosexual marriage. Now they are threatened by proposed legislation that would put them in jail.

3.     Terminally ill or brain damaged people not requiring life support other than normal care and feeding are starved to death by court order in spite of family objections and willingness to care for their ill family member.

4.     A Catholic priest at a Catholic University is honoring a man who is leading the further moral decline of our Country.

5.     Political opinions are no longer considered valid if they do not conform to the “new” enlightened thinking (Sin is old fashion and does not exist anymore).

6.     Those who do not conform to the new social order are being threatened with mislabeled legislation which will make it illegal for them to express an opinion opposite of the new social order.

7.     Recently in Connecticut the state legislators attempted to pass legislation in a quick and underhanded way that would have stripped Catholic Bishops in Connecticut from any hieratical (direct) control over the Churches in their Holy Seas. In effect overruling their appointment by the Holy Father and usurping control over the Catholic Church in Connecticut. The enormous outrage expressed by Catholics and others in Connecticut has “temporarily” stopped this legislation.

8.     When a good Catholic Priest (of which the vast majority are) does what God called him to do (Spread His Gospel) he is smeared with the pedophile label because a few bad priests were guilty of this serious crime against God, innocent children, and society. This is like smearing all policemen, lawyers, doctors, and hamburger flippers because one of their members was found guilty of a crime. We forget that Priests are human to; subject to the same human failings of us all. Even one of Christ’s apostles turn against Him.

9.     Abortion, euthanasia, infanticide, and assisted suicide are routinely performed and promoted for financial gain and or convenience of others.

10.                         Those in power who do not contribute to society with their personal wealth, but instead reap huge personal benefits from it, want those who have worked the hardest for personal wealth for the security of themselves and their family’s to now (in spite of the fact they have already done more for the less fortunate then these leaders) give up what they have earned so those who have not worked can live as well as they do.

11.                        Now we have the executive branch taking sides in disputes between different classes of citizens (Corrupt Union bosses over management at GM & Chrysler); a role that is reserved by our constitution for the judiciary. The scary thing is that the executive branch seems to do this without challenge from our other branches of government.

How did we reach this sorry situation and how can we reverse the trend so our grand children and their children can live in a world more like the one we grew up in without the moral decay we have today?

I worry what our creator will say when we meet him. What if he asks if we left the world in a better state then when we entered it? Somehow, I don’t think telling Him that we improved the world technologically is going to cut it. He will not ask us if we contributed to “global warming”. He will undoubtedly be more concerned about how we spread His Gospel, did we accept the gift of children and raise them to know and love their creator?  Did we create an environment where our children were not exposed to constant pornography, drug use, violence, lack of love and respect for our neighbors? I hope He is a forgiving God because I don’t think any of us measures up.

Can there be any doubt that organizations such as the ACLU, ACORN, and Planned Parenthood, are instruments of the devil? The immoral goals of these organizations speak to the evil they do. Many unwitting souls end up enslaved to them because like the serpent in the garden, these organizations are not what they appear to be. They present themselves as “good” organizations because we all want to do good; God designed us that way. The only way the devil and organizations such as these can be effective (and they are certainly effective) is to convince people that their purpose is something different than it really is; good instead of evil. ACORN says it is trying to register the poor down trodden souls who are being held down by a wicked society and not what they really do; stuff ballot boxes to usurp power so they can further press their plan of domination. Planned Parenthood says it is trying to help the poor pregnant teenager and under privileged minority that has nowhere to go for help and not what they really do; murder innocent unborn souls for money and domination. ACLU amasses large amounts of money from the witting and unwitting under the guise of their misleading name (American? Civil?, Liberties?, Union). What do they use this money for? Anything that advances their cause of domination; a major effort has been toward eliminating any reminder of God. Remove crosses, bibles, 10 commandments, manger scenes, and anything else that may remind us of our Judeo Christian culture. If they can make us forget Christ then the devil wins. I have in all my years never seen an organization that was on the wrong side of an issue 100% of the time but I think the ACLU comes very close. I cannot think of a single case where they were on the right side of an issue.

As long as people remain ignorant of the very well thought out plan of those who would steal our freedom, they will continue to advance toward their goal. People who continue to blindly support their efforts need to wake up before it is too late for us in this particular period of history. Unknown to these organizations and those supporting them, they have already lost this battle, Christ has promised that the gates of hell will not prevail against his Church and he has died and been born to new life to insure it is so, so in the end the devil loses; the script is already written. The only question is when this will occur and which side will we be on in the end; Christ’s sheep or the opposing goats? Unfortunately for those opposing Christ; they do not believe his Holy Word. He has told them they will lose if they oppose Hiim. Yet they do not believe Him and continue to oppose Him.

Many societies in our human history have gone down the same path we are now on in America. Many good people have suffered and died to preserve our religious freedom, let us not just give it away.

Let us pray that our brethren find their way out of the darkness.

Dump Pfizer

May 10th, 2009 by gkroeger

Thanks to Obama’s lifting of the ban on embryonic stem cell research, Pfizer pumps $100M into embryonic stem cell research

I just took a loss on a loser stock. I have held it through 10 years of losses because I “thought” they were a good company deserving of my loyalty; however, I learned today that they have taken $100,000,000 of their investors money and put it into embryonic stem cell research.

I have placed a sell order for every last Pfizer share as of tomorrow morning and I urge all pro life people to do the same.

Archbishop Burke “Pray for a Nation on path to a ‘Culture of Death’

May 9th, 2009 by gkroeger

Archbishop Raymond L. Burke called the invitation of Obama by Notre Dame a “most serious scandal”. Also expressed his disapproval that a majority of U.S. Catholics voted for Obama; he called on U.S. Catholics to have “open eyes” to see the gravity of the situation and note the terrible direction the Country has taken since Obama’s election.

Archbishop Chaput receives Canterbury Metal

May 8th, 2009 by gkroeger

charles-j-chaput-archbishop-denver

Charles J. Chaput Archbishop of Denver author of “Render unto Caesar” and a leading voice in the fight against the heresies being perpetrated on American Catholics by their Catholic political leaders received the Canterbury Medal from the Becket Fund a group dedicated to religious freedom.

Past Canterbury Medalists include Nobel Peace Prize recipient Elie Wiesel, Prison Fellowship founder Chuck Colson, Gov. and Mrs. Mitt Romney, financiers Foster Friess and Ted Forstmann, and former U.S. Ambassadors to the Vatican James R. Nicholson and Mary Ann Glendon.

Archbishop Chaput had comments upon receiving his metal;

“Knowledge is merely knowledge. Power is merely power. Nothing inherent to knowledge or power guarantees that it will translate into wisdom or justice or mercy.”

“The freedom of faith we all enjoy in this country needs to be earned and defended by all of us, again and again, or we’ll lose it… Freedom needs to be purchased with a constant witness of courage, intelligence and action.”
